Hi there 👋🏻, my name is Mr. Jim and I love telling stories.
This all started with bedtime stories for my boys. I would ask them questions like “who’s the bad guy?”, “what are they driving?, or even “what do they smell like?” and the rest would unfold organically and hilariously, I’ll tell you that.
Growing up I was always working in after school programs and summer camps building a passion for helping children see the world through their imagination.
Having three boys in the sweet spot of KSS is definitely helpful and never short of inspiration. They keep me on my toes, always have more energy to wrestle, and they help me understand that we’re just like any other family trying to make the world a great place for our kids.
We believe stories bond us, build trust, and create communication between parents and their kids, and we think you do too.
You could say this kind of started by accident.
Kids Short Stories first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners per month.
We live in a world now where technology is consistently grabbing for our kids’ attention. You see, we don’t believe technology is public enemy #1, but we believe that there’s a better way to use it when it comes to screen-less entertainment for your children. That’s what we promise and how we make our episodes, with your child’s attention span and imagination at the forefront.
Each episode is 8-10 minutes, memorable, there’s no hard storylines to follow, and they’re made by kids just like yours. While my sons helped me make the first handful, now children around the world send in their ideas for everyone to hear. Here’s some favorite episodes :)
